Business License Application


Use the online Business License Application to apply for a new business license or renew an existing business license.

Before You Apply

In certain circumstances it is possible that you will need additional permits. If the online form tells you that you need additional permits, then follow the instructions given (you will need to come to the Community Development Department to acquire the additional permits).
  • If you need to cancel your business license, then you must contact the Finance Department at (503) 526-2255 and select the appropriate option.
  • If you need to change non-public details about your business, you must contact the Finance Department at (503) 526-2255 and select the appropriate option.


Submitting your payment online does not guarantee that your payment will be accepted. If your credit card payment is rejected, then your license will be considered unpaid and we will notify you that payment was not accepted. After you receive notification that payment was not accepted, the business license will be considered delinquent. A business license fee due from any person and not paid in full when due is delinquent, and the City may avail itself of any and all remedies available to it to collect the fee from that person, including but not limited to citation of the person for a violation of the Beaverton Code.

A delinquent charge of 10% of the business license fee that is due from any person and is delinquent shall be added to the fee that is otherwise due for each successive 30-day period or portion thereof for which any portion of the amount due, including delinquent charges already imposed, remains unpaid, up to a maximum penalty of 100% of the license fee.


You may only apply for a renewal if today’s date is within 30 days of the expiration date of your current license.


Upon receipt of payment for your business license, we will send a business license to you within 30 days via regular mail.

Refund Policy

If the business license purchase was charged to your credit card in error or without your permission, we will accept your request to cancel the original transaction and refund your payment in full, as long as the request is made within 90 days of the original transaction.

If your original payment was made by credit card, the period of 90 days will begin from the transaction processing date. We reserve the right to revise this policy at any time.
