Non-Curbside Recycling & Garbage

Due to a property sale, Far West Recycling was not able to continue their lease at their Beaverton location – 10750 SW Denney Rd, and closed to the public on March 31, 2017. If you have questions about the closure call us at 503-526-2665 to talk to one of our Recycling Specialists.

We know Beaverton residents and businesses are committed to recycling – both at the curb and for items needing to be taken to a recycling depot, such as Far West Recycling. To learn of alternative locations for your beyond-the-curb materials (like plastic bags, plastic to-go containers, household electronics or small appliances) – you can visit OregonMetro.gov/FindaRecycler or visit one of Far West’s other locations:

Hard to Recycle Items

In Beaverton, paper, cardboard, metal, plastic containers, glass containers, and used motor oil can all be recycled curbside. This mix covers much of the day-to-day recyclables that are generated in a home or business.

There are times, however, when you may have items that are recyclable but they aren’t collected curbside. The following items are non-curbside recyclable, but may have other recycling options. If you do not see an item on this page, Metro's Find a Recycler tool can help you find a recycling option near you.
  • Batteries
  • Block foam and foam peanuts
  • Bulky waste
  • Christmas trees
  • Electronics
  • Fluorescent light bulbs
  • Household hazardous waste
  • Large appliances
  • Mattresses
